Representatives of the National Satellite Communication and Broadcasting System took part in the XIV International Conference “Satellite Russia & CIS: Satellite Communications and Spacecraft in Different Orbits in the Era of Global Industry Transformation” in Moscow.
Several topics were of particular interest, such as:
- New priorities in space projects and import substitution in satellite communications: what should be done to ensure independence from external factors?
- Space program of multi-satellite systems: how does the ‘Sphere’ project contribute to the digital transformation of the Russian economy?
- Development of national satellite constellations and prospects of cooperation with Russian telecom operators and private business. Under what conditions private business would be involved in the “Sphere” project implementation?
- Satellite Communication Transformation in the 5G Era: satellite technologies are enshrined in the adopted 3GPP LTE Release 17 standard for the first time. Can it be considered as an acknowledgment of satellites by the cellular world?
During the conference, two meetings aiming at the development of NSSC&B in our country were held.
