About Belintersat
Creation of the National Satellite Communication and Broadcast System is the largest project in the field of telecommunications implemented by the Republic of Belarus. The project has a high innovative, economic, social and political importance for our country.
The project aims at cooperation with commercial and state customers from the Republic of Belarus, as well as from neighboring countries and those further abroad.
By launching its first telecommunication satellite the Republic of Belarus entered the world market of satellite services.
The decision to launch its own communications satellite was taken at the highest state level. A closed tender for the project was announced, and the winner was the China Great Wall Industry Corporation. In autumn 2012 a contract with CGWIC to supply the National Satellite Communication and Broadcast System of the Republic of Belarus was signed. A loan from the Export-Import Bank of China was raised to finance the project.

A hallmark of these services for Belarus is 100% coverage of our country’s territory.
The National Satellite Communication and Broadcast System of the Republic of Belarus is based on its own communications satellite BELINTERSAT-1 and provides a wide range of telecommunication services (satellite TV broadcasting, satellite radio broadcasting, broadband Internet access). The satellite has transponders operating in C- and Ku-bands.
The Ground Control Centre (GCC) performs control over BELINTERSAT-1 satellite in Stankovo, Dzerzhinsk region. All on-board subsystems of the spacecraft operate normally, and all service parameters are within the specified limits.
The spacecraft is controlled in accordance with the control plan and operational documentation.
