On April 12, 1961, Yuri Gagarin became the first human in space, making a 108-minute orbital flight in his Vostok 1 spacecraft.
On the same day, Gagarin’s pictures appeared on the covers of newspapers and magazines around the world.
Since then, the day of Gagarin’s flight into space has been declared a holiday as the Cosmonautics Day.
This day is one of the most significant for everyone who is somehow involved with the space industry, who expands the horizons for the development of a humankind.
