Belintersat took part in the Science Festival-2024

On September 7, 2024, Belintersat took part in the Science Festival, the largest popular science event in our country.

For the sixth time, Minsk residents and guests of the capital, adults and children, gathered in the Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus to experience the fascinating world of science first-hand.

At eleven festival sites, guests were interested in learning about the latest scientific developments, discovering the amazing side of scientific knowledge and exciting experiments.

Traditionally, the “Cosmos” site served as the venue for space interaction at the science festival, where speakers presented a diverse lecture program to visitors. With genuine attention, the guests listened to lectures on the flight of the first Belarusian cosmonaut Marina Vasilevskaya into space and the “Proxibiotic” experiment, space objects and their research, artificial Earth satellites and the capabilities of telescopes.

Valery Khatko, the Belintersat-1 satellite flight director, enthusiastically spoke about how satellite technologies were developed with the help of science, and what role the Belintersat-1 communications satellite plays in the space sector of Belarus.

We are pleased to note that the Belintersat site has become an attractive place for a large number of visitors, where everyone was able to find suitable activities for themselves.

In our fun workshop, using creativity and imagination, teams of teenage friends and entire families created colorful robots to rescue the satellite from virtual space pirates.

The most inquisitive ones took part in educational quizzes dedicated to artificial satellites of the Earth. For every question about satellites asked to our team, festival visitors received comprehensive answers.

The guests also enthusiastically assembled their own Belintersat-1 spacecraft: both in the form of mini-models and headdresses.

The whole day, the site was filled with an atmosphere of friendship and good mood, dialogue and mutual trust, creativity and peace.

We are sure that with such inquisitive, smart, creative and imaginative youth, a bright future for Belarusian science is ensured, which means that our country will live and develop!

We express our deep gratitude to the organizer of the festival – the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus – for this science-fiction September holiday!
