On December 11, as part of the career and cooperation days between the enterprise and the Faculty of Radiophysics and Computer Technologies of BSU, an excursion was held on the territory of NKU for a group of students of the faculty, accompanied by their leaders – senior lecturers of the Department of Physics and Aerospace Technologies Ratkevich Sergey Vladimirovich and Ermakovich Vera Rimmanovna.
The guys took full advantage of the opportunity to see with their own eyes how the satellite ground application center works and get acquainted with satellite communication technologies. Valery Khatko, the head of the NKU flight, during the excursion told not only about the history of the creation of the Belintersat-1 satellite, its purpose and the features of work in orbit. Our guests were also able to learn about the engineering technologies used in the design of the satellite, how its power is provided.
The younger generation was also interested in the approaches to the work of the satellite flight control specialists themselves. The students received answers to questions about how and with the help of which programs continuous communication with the spacecraft is monitored, in which cases its position in orbit is adjusted.
The excursion became a useful dialogue for students, teachers and Belintersat staff, thanks to which the students were able to better understand the relationship between the processes of ground control of the satellite.
In addition, pressing issues of university education were discussed. Valery Khatko in a conversation with teachers emphasized that it is worth drawing students’ attention to the ability to work with the source of information. This will allow the students to assimilate the material efficiently.
The meeting ended with warm words of gratitude addressed to us from both the students and the group leaders: “Thank you very much for an interesting excursion. The students were very inspired! We want to continue to cooperate with you in the future.”
We certainly support fruitful cooperation!
