On January 15, 2025, the BELINTERSAT space project turns 9 years old. This means that we are one step away from the anniversary date, the onset of which became possible thanks to the ambitious plans of the Head of State A.G. Lukashenko. The foundation for the development of the satellite industry in our country was laid on January 20, 2011 by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus “On the creation of a National Satellite Communications and Broadcasting System on a competitive basis.”
From this moment, a new countdown began. Together with our Chinese partners, we began working on a grandiose project – the development of the National Satellite Communications and Broadcasting System and the production of the Belintersat-1 geostationary communications satellite.
On January 15, 2016, at 19:57 Minsk time, the Long March 3B launch vehicle with the first Belarusian telecommunications satellite on board was successfully launched from the Sichan Cosmodrome.
For 9 years, the BELINTERSAT team has been taking the project implementation very seriously. By using the mind, intellect, energy of cooperation and team spirit, expanding the competencies and strengthening the professionalism of each employee, we can confidently say: the project has not only become successful in the present – it, like our beloved Belarus, has a modern high-tech future!
We are full of strength, ideas, inspiration and faith in success. We are open to development and are always ready to grow as professionals, to be the best experts and partners for our clients in the field of satellite communications and broadcasting.
We are proud that, working on the project, we have gone through a nine-year journey with dignity and confidence, that the quality of our services is highly appreciated by our clients. Let luck, mutual understanding, high professionalism and an inexhaustible desire to see Belarus as a space power be our companions in the future!
Oleg Vinyarsky, Head of the GCS:
– I have been working on the project for over 10 years and have witnessed how it developed and transformed from the idea and drawings of the Belintersat-1 satellite and the Ground Control Complex on paper into the National Satellite Communications and Broadcasting System of the Republic of Belarus today. Having gone from a technical support engineer for the manufacture of a spacecraft to the technical manager of this project, I can proudly say that I have had the great honor of being part of this grand achievement for the country and being part of a team that I respect immensely!
During this time, the NSSSiV project, using the capabilities of the Belintersat-1 geostationary satellite, has implemented dozens of international projects and found its application in the national market. Today, the country uses the system’s potential to broadcast a publicly available package of TV programs in high definition format on 100% of the territory of Belarus, it is used to organize communication channels in the interests of the armed forces, thereby ensuring compliance with aspects of national and information security.
I wish us not to stop there, to develop and move only forward! After all, if you really want something, it will definitely come true, and the diligence and enthusiasm of such a young team cannot disappear without a trace!
Etienne Shegidevich, Head of the Department of Television, Communications and Data Transmission of the Satellite Ground Application Center of the GCS:
– Today, January 15, the Belintersat team celebrates 9 years since the launch of the Belintersat-1 satellite into geostationary orbit. On this memorable date, we look back on the cosmic path we have traveled, marked by the joys of success and victories, the creation of an atmosphere of mutual assistance and respect in the team, as well as the accumulated technical and corporate experience.
Our achievements today are, first of all, the result of cooperation and achievements of our clients and partners, and therefore we wish you prosperity, determination and creativity on the way to new horizons!
